2D Design for Digital Fabrication

Get started with 2D design using Inkscape, a free and open-source vector creation software.  This class will guide you through what vector design is and how beneficial it is in designing for Laser Cutting, CNC plasma, CNC routing, Dye Sublimation, Vinyl Cutting, and more.

You will learn how to vectorize images, how to draw with basic shapes, how to use groups and layers, and be introduced to boolean operations.  You’ll also get a basic lesson in designing for different machines and processes, and learn about the strengths and limitations of the tools themselves to help you plan out your next project.
