Intro to 3D design with TinkerCAD

In this class, you will establish a Tinkercad login and learn the basics of 3D design to produce a personalized 3D printed keychain or other small item. This is a great intro to basic CAD principles and will serve as a foundation for future classes with formal CAD software. We will cover the following and a lot more.

Understand the principles of designing in 3 dimensions (X,Y,Z axis)
Setup units and grid size
Learn the Tinkercad interface
Utilize the ruler tool to provide dimensions to objects
Use basic shapes to create more complex objects (solids & holes)
Use radius to produce rounded edges
Align objects along the various axis
Customize items with text and other decorative objects
Use the ‘work plane’ to design relative to an existing object
Have your item 3D printed by the instructor
