2D Design - Intro to Inkscape

Learn about 2D design and how to use Inkscape, a free and open-source vector creation software. This class will guide you through what vector design is and how beneficial it is in designing for Laser Cutting, CNC plasma, CNC routing, Dye Sublimation, Vinyl Cutting, and more.

Students will learn how to vectorize images, draw with basic shapes, and use groups and layers. They'll also be introduced to boolean operations, will be given a basic lesson in designing for different machines and processes, and learn about the strengths and limitations of the tools themselves to help you plan out your next project.

Open to the public
Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge and skills
Class may be cancelled/rescheduled if minimum class size is not met 3 days prior.
