Introduction to Leather Craft

In this class, students will be introduced to leather working. Instruction will cover:

• Different types of leather and how to select the right leather for a project.
• Tool use and safety
• Various methods of cutting leather
• How to punch and fasten with rivets, snaps, and grommets
• Traditional saddle-stitching
• Decoration and dye techniques will be discussed, but not practiced.

In class, students will make a saddle-stitched and riveted key fob and will leave with the parts necessary to make a second one. Also, each student will leave the class with pre-cut leather parts to make a custom "field notes" cover on their own.

Ages: 13+

Note: Class may be cancelled/rescheduled if minimum class size is not met 3 days prior.
