What Is Forge The Future?
Forge The Future is a program for adults interested in pursuing a career in the building trades or automotive industry. Plumbers, electricians, welders, heavy equipment operators, carpenters, masons, and other skilled workers are in high demand, but many job seekers lack basic skills required to be successful in those positions. Similarly, automotive technicians who can perform inspections, install and balance tires, and complete basic maintenance operations are in high demand, they just need a bit of introductory training to secure a job with multiple longterm career options. To meet this need, Triumph Workshop’s leadership team worked closely with automotive and construction leaders to develop Forge The Future as an affordable workforce development program that is changing lives.
Forge The Future includes hands-on learning, shop projects, field trips, and guest speakers. Upon graduation, participants who secure a job may receive up to $400 in tools and equipment. With Triumph Workshop’s network of highly regarded professionals, Forge The Future graduates can begin their new career immediately upon completion of the program. Building Trade participants earn their OSHA 10 card and OSHA fall protection certificate, and get hands-on experience using tools in the wood and metal shops. Automotive participants learn to properly install and balance tires, do basic fluid changes and inspections, and more in the automotive shop. All Forge the Future participants will be taught how to safely operate a forklift and will have the opportunity to gain their Class 1-7 Forklift Certification.
While the Building Trade and Automotive programs differ in core subject matter, they both include lessons in financial literacy, communication skills, resume building, interview coaching, and more. All participants must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid a drivers license, and be authorized to work in the USA. The Cost
$200. The fee can be paid over time. Income replacement grants are available to those who qualify, so participants can earn while they learn.
