With a very small instructor-student ratio, students will have the confidence and support to create a custom bottle stopper they can keep for themselves or give as a gift. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Routers are used to cut many types of materials, such as wood, plastic, aluminum, and high-density foam. Since they operate via computers, CNC Routers are faster and much more precise than most humans at the subtractive manufacturing process. Students must attend both nights - Part 1 & Part 2 - and one ticket provides access to both. After the class students must schedule a one-on-one proficiency checkout (at a cost of $50) to be completed at a later date. Space is limited, so buy tickets now! Learn to use the Thunder Laser to engrave and cut wood, acrylic, stone and more! Adults and teens (16+) will learn to safely and properly use the machine, how to set it up and shut it down, and the basics of how to engrave and cut items using Lightburn software. This is the perfect small group setting to become familiar with the Thunder Laser and get your questions answered. Plus, students will leave with a keychain they created in the class. In this class teens and adults will learn the basics of TIG Welding for Stainless Steel - what the process is, how to set up and break down the machine, how to prep materials, and how to tack weld and run beads. Though not required, it is recommended that you take one of our Intro to Welding courses first. Ages: 16+ Attire: Long-sleeved shirts, long pants, close-toed shoes (all natural materials if possible, like cotton, leather, etc). In this class, experienced CNC Router operators will learn how to design and toolpath the steps to produce a wood inlay using VCarve Pro on the CAMaster CNC. This class includes classroom instruction and a live demonstration at the CNC Router. This is an intermediate level class. Students will begin with an introduction and will end the class with vast knowledge, plus a fire pit that is ready to take home and use. No previous experience is required to take this class. Students must attend both nights – Part A & Part B – and one ticket, (which must be purchased on the event page for Part A) provides access to both. While the process sounds simple, there is much more to it than one might think. From strict guidelines regarding materials to exact temperature and pressure that should be used. It’s important to understand the process, and this class will teach you everything you need to know to get started. Learn the basics of glass cutting, design, and the science of fusing and slumping in this 3 hour class. Students will cut glass in simple shapes with hand held glass cutting tools, then design both a 6 and a 3 inch square plate to be fused then slumped. Color theory and design ideas will give infinite ideas of what can be created! Students will learn glass basics from what a COE is all the way to understanding the different types of fusing and slumping. Finished pieces can be picked-up one week from the class.
